Digitalization of manufacturing processes in the automotive industry

A company active in the automotive industry had a production of pipes available in different shapes, sizes, and bends depending on the vehicle they are to be mounted on and their function.

The company has always used the traditional artisanal thermoforming process which, although simple, shows a huge limitation: the production of the mold. Metal molds are provided in different custom configurations. When new designs or changes to existing ones are needed, the entire craft process has to be repeated again. Not to mention the cost of inventory management for each individual configuration.

So, the team decided to integrate the Roboze Plus PRO 3D printer combined with the ToolingX CF material into this process by replacing the mold manufacturing process with digital files.
